I have jumped back into my writing career (or as much as it is) and currently writing for several webzines, working on some short stories and a couple of novels. I have had over 40 published articles in 2008 and still going strong. Currently I am attempting to also break into the gaming industry as a game writer – the person who writes out the quests, storyline, lines of dialogue, cut scene movie writing, etc. in a video game. All in all, it keeps me busy with all the writing, though I should indeed be doing more.

In addition to my writing, I have also gotten back into photography with some of my work actually pretty good. On the professional side of this, I have been the wedding photographer for one of my employees and did a black and white series for a friends’ den. Most of my work remains at the amateur level though and I am looking to get into astrophotography within a couple of years. I will have some of my own work up shortly in my photo albums and perhaps here on the page.

As many may know, my longtime feline companion Julius died last year. While he is still missed, I do have another companion named Kovacks. For those who know their Watchmen, that is the real name of Rorschach. He’s a tuxedo kitty, well balanced (in terms of fur coloring anyway) and quite the character. His first six months of life he was raised in a dog care center, and I believe he honestly thinks of himself more as a dog than a cat. He doesn’t get along very well with our other cat Cerce, but gets along fine with the dogs PJ and McKinley. Matter of fact he and PJ are the best of friends and the two offer a lot of comedy to our lives.

I still work for a residential water treatment company in Birmingham and have been promoted a few times over the past few years. Now, I am the Customer Care Manager by title, a service and sales manager by role. Unfortunately I still work the second shift, which makes a social life outside of the weekends all but impossible but I still get out and about quite often on the weekends with my other half.

For enjoyment and entertainment I still play World of Warcraft, though I am opt to walk away form it now and again. In addition I play Eve Online, a game that I write for on a few web sites, Vanguard SOH and a few other video games. I also play D&D 4th edition and have my own gaming group where we’re about to start playing Werewolf tabletop as well. Between this, watching movies and reading I keep pretty busy, though I do try to get a weekend here and there to catch up on sleep.

2009 should be a pretty busy year for me. Between building a house and getting married, it is also my intention of taking some college classes online as well. So between my writing, photography, gaming, work and this, it is bound to be a busy year. Will be good for me though considering my last few years have not been the best. Lest I forget, next year my mother will be visiting which is huge, as we haven’t seen each other in over 12 years.
